My wife and I were both successful professionals. We have been very
blessed in the American workforce. We came to a point though, where we
began to question our reason for being here. I felt a call to the ministry at a
younger age, but never knew what God had in store. Rachel's family always
knew that God would do something amazing through her life. We decided to
try and discover what God had created us to do; earn money and be
comfortable, or make a difference in the world. We began praying for
direction from the Holy Spirit. Through a series of several events including a
move, church change, and job promotion, God led us to a specific group of
people. These people have changed our lives forever. They made it their
quest to live for God, no matter how hard. They challenged us to do the
same. We agreed, not knowing what God had in mind. These people agreed
to become our mentors and help us uncover what God wanted for us. This
couple also became the founding members of our current prayer advisory
team. Through the advice of the advisory team, we discovered an interest in
foreign missions. Our family began to research several organizations and we
settled on Pioneers. We have been accepted to join a team in the
Balkans....specifically in Croatia. Who knew that God would use the time I
spent in the military there for a greater purpose? We believe that this group
will be the best fit for our talents and the mission that God has created us for.
